How NABHCLOUD meters hourly billing in rupees, handles GST invoices, DDoS protection, Indian regions and support.
Billing and support, answered
Here are the questions we hear most about hourly metering, billing terms and what comes bundled in. For anything else, our support desk is one ticket away.
How does hourly billing work?
Every resource is priced at a monthly list rate. We divide that figure by 730 — the typical hours in a month — to arrive at an hourly rate, then track every running VM for each hour it stays live. Run a VM for a full month under hourly billing and the total works out to exactly that monthly rate. Usage is tracked down to a fraction of one paisa per hour (a fraction of a cent for USD accounts), with rounding applied only once, at the end of the month, across your total usage — never hour by hour.
Do listed prices include GST?
No. All prices shown on this site exclude GST. An 18% GST charge is applied at checkout and shown on the invoice for customers billed in India. If your account carries a GSTIN, you can claim that GST back as input credit. Customers located outside India are billed from our USD price list and treated as zero-rated exports.
Is there a shortest billing period?
Servers on hourly billing are charged per hour started, with at least 1 hour counted starting the instant the server is provisioned; beyond that first hour, you only pay for the time it was actually powered on, and the dashboard displays the cost before you confirm anything. Monthly plans and longer commitments, by contrast, are billed for the whole term upfront — if you cancel early, the remaining balance is returned to you as wallet credit.
Do you offer dedicated servers?
We do not sell standalone physical dedicated servers. What we offer instead are dedicated virtual machines — KVM-based VMs where the vCPU and RAM assigned to your instance are reserved solely for you and never shared with other customers, running on NVMe storage, available either hourly or on a fixed term. If you need a dedicated IP subnet or want to set up a BGP session alongside your servers, reach out to us for a custom quote.
How does choosing a longer term affect pricing?
Committing to a monthly plan instead of paying hourly brings the cost down. Choosing a longer commitment — quarterly, 6-month, 12-month, 24-month or 36-month — lowers the monthly cost further still, with longer terms costing less per month. Current plans and prices are shown on this page.
Can I be billed in dollars?
Yes. Switch the currency toggle in the menu between ₹ and $ to view pricing in US dollars. Accounts set to USD are invoiced against our USD price list, while customers in India are charged in rupees, with GST added on top.
What comes included without extra cost?
Every plan includes a single IPv4 address, a 1 Gbps port for networking, Cloudflare Magic Transit for DDoS protection, one snapshot per VM, control panel and API access, a VNC console, and traffic coming into the server at no charge. Outbound traffic carries a fair-use limit that depends on your plan.
How are S3 Advance API requests charged?
Each 100 GB storage block comes with an allowance of 50,000 requests per month, covering both uploads and downloads combined. Once that allowance is used up, further requests — uploads via PUT and downloads via GET — are charged per 1,000, at rates shown on this page. Data moving between your VMs and your buckets within our network does not incur any transfer charge.
Am I charged for a VM that is switched off?
Under hourly billing, a powered-off VM is only charged for its NVMe disk — the public IP attached to it costs nothing. The rate for disk-only billing while powered off is lower than the running rate (plus GST), and current figures are shown on this page. This reduced rate applies for every full clock hour the VM stays off. Plans billed on a fixed term are already paid for, so powering off a server does not change what you owe. If Reserve IP is switched on, a powered-off VM is also charged hourly to hold on to its address.
Does my VM keep the same IP after I stop and start it?
Yes, so long as you keep using the server. The public IPv4 address does not cost anything, no matter if the VM is powered on or switched off, and actions like powering off, powering on, rebooting or resizing all leave the address unchanged. If an hourly-billed VM sits powered off for 3 days running, we release its IP back to the pool. You'll get an email and WhatsApp alert two days ahead, and another one right before the IP is actually freed up. Restarting the server later reassigns the same address if it is still free, or a new one if not. To hold on to the IP for as long as the server stays off, switch on Reserve IP from the server page; this option is billed hourly while the server is stopped and costs nothing while it runs. Current rates are shown on this page. Monthly plans and longer terms retain their IP for the entire paid period. Deleting the VM releases its IP permanently.
How will I know if my wallet balance is low?
We estimate how long your balance will last based on what your hourly servers currently cost, and flag it to you at three points: roughly 3 days before you run out, 1 day before, and again when only 6 hours remain — that last alert can arrive at any hour. The Billing page in your panel shows the time left, and a red banner appears across every page during that final day. You can also set your own threshold under Billing using the "Also warn me below" option. Top up before your balance hits zero to keep hourly servers running without interruption. Once the balance reaches zero, hourly servers pause immediately (their data stays intact) and resume automatically within minutes of your next top-up. Monthly plans and longer terms are prepaid and keep running regardless.
Do outbound requests from my VM use its own public IP?
Every VM gets its own dedicated Indian public IPv4 address, wired directly to that VM's network interface with nothing shared in between — no NAT, no common gateway — so outbound HTTPS calls and API requests leave from that same address. This makes our VMs suitable for use with broker, banking and payment APIs that require a fixed source IP on their whitelist. You can check this from inside the VM by running curl -4 https://ifconfig.me, and our support team can confirm the outbound address from the network side if you ask.
Can I run a proxy, API gateway or VPN on my own server?
Yes — for your own apps and server-to-server traffic such as reverse proxies, API gateways, WireGuard, OpenVPN and other encrypted tunnels, all of which are permitted; outbound HTTPS traffic is not restricted. Not allowed under our terms: running proxies that the public can use, sending spam, attacking or scanning networks that are not yours, faking your traffic's source address, or passing on raw server capacity to others without written sign-off from us.
What happens if I cancel a yearly or monthly plan before it ends?
You get back whatever portion you have not used. Cancelling before your term finishes credits the full remaining amount to your wallet, calculated down to the second, and we issue a GST credit note tied to the original invoice. The exact amount is shown in the panel before you confirm the cancellation. This credit sits in your wallet and can be spent on any of our services, but it cannot be withdrawn to a bank account or refunded to a card. Hourly servers, being billed by the hour already, simply stop accruing charges when stopped — there is no unused balance to return.
Can I resize a VM during a term?
Yes. You can change vCPU, RAM and disk independently of one another. The remaining portion of your paid term is settled right away, applying the same discounted rate you are already on: an upgrade is charged to your wallet immediately (if your balance can't cover it, the change is held for as long as 72 hours and applied automatically once you add funds), while a downgrade is credited back to your wallet. Disk size can only grow, never shrink. The server restarts once to apply the change.
Can I move from hourly billing to a fixed term later?
Yes, at any time. Switching an hourly VM to a monthly plan or longer term keeps the same VM, the same IP and the same disk — only the billing method changes, starting from the following hour.
What happens when a term plan ends?
The VM automatically renews for the same term length at whatever price applies then, unless you cancel ahead of its renewal date. A reminder email goes out 14 days before that date.
Is DDoS protection part of every plan, or an add-on?
It is included with every plan, at no extra cost. Our entire network sits behind Cloudflare Magic Transit, which stops large-scale attacks from ever reaching the datacentre in the first place. There's no separate charge per IP and no higher-tier "premium" protection plan — the same protection applies to every plan.
Will I receive a GST invoice showing my GSTIN?
Yes. Every paid order generates a GST tax invoice carrying your GSTIN, the applicable SAC code, and a breakdown of CGST/SGST or IGST as applicable, letting you offset that amount as input tax credit against your own GST liability. All prices are in rupees, with no extra charge for currency conversion.
Do you support customers located outside Delhi NCR?
Yes. Customers based in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and more than 50 other Indian cities already run workloads out of our Noida region. Because we peer directly at Indian internet exchanges, data bound for Indian ISPs stays within the country and takes a shorter path, keeping latency low.
Which regions are available for deployment?
Noida is live today. Mumbai and Chennai are planned to follow, at the same pricing. Once they launch, you'll be able to shift a VM from one region to another using a snapshot.
