S3-Compatible Object Storage in India | NABHCLOUD

S3-compatible storage from NABHCLOUD, hosted in Noida. Works with AWS CLI, rclone and restic. Current prices are shown on this page.

NABHCLOUD gives you buckets for backups, media files and application data, held inside our data centre in Noida. Connect the AWS CLI, an AWS SDK, rclone or restic to our S3-compatible endpoint and keep your existing scripts as they are. Billing runs either as a fixed monthly plan or on a pay-as-you-go basis, and listed prices exclude 18% GST. Current plans and prices are shown on this page.

What our object storage gives you

Standard S3 API support

Any client that lets you point to a custom endpoint and region will connect without changes. We support both path-style addressing and virtual-host style addressing (YOUR-BUCKET.<endpoint>), and large uploads are split automatically into multipart transfers.

Your data stays within India

All objects sit in our Noida (Delhi NCR) data centre. Every bucket is private by default, and each one carries its own access key that you can regenerate from the panel whenever you need to.

Billed in rupees, invoiced with GST

Choose hourly billing for the storage you actually use, or lock in a monthly plan for a fixed bucket size. Each invoice is a proper GST tax invoice, so you can claim input credit on it.

A built-in file manager

From the panel you can open a bucket, upload files (including large ones in parts), make folders, and download or remove objects, all without installing separate software.

Low-latency access from your servers

Traffic between your NABHCLOUD cloud servers and your storage buckets travels over our internal network rather than the public internet.

Suited to backup workflows

Move database dumps, server backups, and restic or rclone backup sets away from the machines they protect, onto storage that stays reachable from anywhere.

Getting started

Register for an account, finish the one-time eKYC check, and then open the Storage section of the panel to create a bucket. The panel will display the bucket name, the endpoint address and an access key, which you can use as shown below.

AWS CLI

aws configure set default.s3.addressing_style path aws s3 cp backup.tar.gz s3://YOUR-BUCKET/ \ --endpoint-url https://<YOUR-S3-ENDPOINT>

Python (boto3)

import boto3 s3 = boto3.client("s3", endpoint_url="https://<YOUR-S3-ENDPOINT>", aws_access_key_id=KEY, aws_secret_access_key=SECRET) s3.upload_file("db.sql.gz", "YOUR-BUCKET", "db.sql.gz")

rclone

[s3] type = s3 provider = Minio endpoint = https://<YOUR-S3-ENDPOINT> access_key_id = KEY secret_access_key = SECRET force_path_style = true

For restic, give the bucket as s3:https://<YOUR-S3-ENDPOINT>/YOUR-BUCKET. For s3cmd, set host_base and host_bucket to match your assigned endpoint. Graphical tools such as S3 Browser, Cyberduck and WinSCP can add an S3-compatible account with your endpoint as the REST host, HTTPS turned on, and the access key and secret from the panel; their default addressing mode will work unchanged.

Web console: sign in to the browser-based S3 console shown in your panel using either your panel login or a bucket's access key and secret. From there you can browse buckets, upload files and whole folders by dragging them in, download objects, generate time-limited share links, publish permanent public links for a public folder (useful for images or MP4 video used by an app), preview and rename files, delete objects, and edit text files directly, all without installing anything.

Frequently asked questions

How much does object storage cost?

Monthly plans charge a flat rate per GB for the whole bucket size, available in 100 GB increments. Pay-as-you-go buckets are billed hourly on the data actually held, which works out to a different effective rate per GB per month. All figures exclude 18% GST. See this page for the current rates.

How are requests billed?

Each bucket, on either billing type, comes with an allowance of 50,000 requests a month for every full 100 GB of its size, covering both uploads and downloads together. Once that allowance is used, upload requests (PUT-class operations such as PutObject, multipart upload parts, CopyObject and browser POST uploads) and download requests (GetObject) are charged separately per 1,000 requests, tracked per bucket and added to your monthly bill. LIST, HEAD and DELETE calls are never charged, and requests that get refused (for instance on access denied) are not counted at all.

Which tools can I use with it?

Any S3-compatible client that supports a custom endpoint, in either path-style or virtual-host style addressing, will work: the AWS CLI and SDKs, rclone, s3cmd, restic, the MinIO client, S3 Browser, Cyberduck, WinSCP, and most backup tools with S3 support. If you don't have a client installed, use the web console in your panel instead, signing in with your panel login or a bucket's access key. Large uploads are automatically split into multipart transfers.

Where is my data physically stored?

Inside our data centre in Noida, in the Delhi NCR region of India. Buckets are private by default, and each one has its own access key that you can regenerate from the panel at any time.

How do I set up a bucket?

Create an account, complete the one-time eKYC verification, and then go to Storage in the panel to create a bucket. You can pick hourly pay-as-you-go billing or a monthly (or longer) plan sized to the whole bucket; you're free to switch an existing bucket between the two from its settings page, and any unused plan time is credited back to your wallet.

What happens if a bucket reaches its size limit?

The bucket size acts as a hard ceiling: any upload that would exceed it is rejected, and the panel shows how full each bucket currently is. To continue uploading, remove files you no longer need or create a larger bucket.

Can I share a permanent public link to a file?

Yes. From the panel or the S3 console, you can mark a folder, or an entire bucket, as public. Every object inside it then gets a permanent link that works without signing in, until you switch the folder back to private. These links are read-only, the folder's contents are never listed publicly through them, and the feature requires an account that has made at least one payment. Each download through such a link counts as a GET request. If you need a link that expires instead, generate a time-limited share link.
