Host Strapi in India with One-Click Install

Install Strapi, the open-source Node.js headless CMS, in one click. Get HTTPS, your own domain and a GST invoice, hosted from our Noida data centre.

Strapi is an open-source headless content management system built on Node.js. You design content types in its admin area, and it delivers them through REST or GraphQL for any front end to use.

Install Strapi — See plans

This app needs the Starter plan or higher. Current plans and prices are shown on this page. HTTPS, your own domain and a GST invoice are included, and the app runs from our Noida facility.

Common ways to use Strapi

  • Powering content for a site built with React, Vue or Next.js
  • Serving as the backend for a mobile application
  • Managing multi-language content through the i18n plugin
  • Giving editors a ready-made API without custom development

What the installer does

Installing sets up Strapi along with its database. Visit /admin at the app's address to register the first administrator account.

  • Gets its own subdomain on NABHCLOUD's app hosting domain, secured with HTTPS right away
  • Generates any required passwords automatically and stores them under Login Details for later viewing
  • Runs on a dedicated app server that stays on at all times, with no need for SSH or Docker
  • Gives you access to logs, restarts and your own domain mapping from the NABHCLOUD panel

About Strapi

Strapi is a Node.js headless CMS. In its Content-Type Builder you define content types, such as Article or Product, and it generates the matching schema files while exposing REST and GraphQL endpoints for each one. Editors use the admin panel at /admin, while your React, Vue or mobile application reads data through the API. The community edition carries an MIT licence, though a handful of features are reserved for paid tiers.

Here is where most people get caught out: because content types are stored as files inside the project (src/api/...), the builder only works while running in development mode. Production mode keeps it read-only on purpose. The practical approach is to design your model locally or on a staging copy, track the project in Git and deploy the finished result. The one-click installation offered here gives you a standard, unmodified Strapi build, suited to editing content and experimenting.

Sensitive values sit in the project's .env file: APP_KEYS, API_TOKEN_SALT, ADMIN_JWT_SECRET and JWT_SECRET. Don't carry over values from a tutorial. Strapi listens on port 1337 out of the box, and freshly created endpoints stay locked until you enable them under Settings, Users and Permissions, then Roles, Public. For server-to-server communication, generate an API token rather than opening access broadly.

Setting up Strapi

  1. Install the app and register your administrator. Launch Strapi from the store, go to /admin at the app's address and create the first administrator account. This account controls everything, so choose a strong password.
  2. Add a content type or bring in your own. With the standard build, confirm your content types are already defined, since changes made through the builder won't survive in production mode.
  3. Enable the required permissions. Under Settings, Users and Permissions plugin, Roles, Public, check find and findOne only for the content types your site needs to display.
  4. Test the API. Load https://your-address/api/articles in a browser. A 403 response points to a missing permission; a 404 usually means the plural name doesn't match.

Smallest plan that supports Strapi

The Starter plan gives you 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM and 20 GB of disk space, with room for up to 2 apps, letting you run Strapi alongside your own code on one server. Billed monthly; current plans and prices are shown on this page, with rates excluding 18% GST.

Frequently asked questions about Strapi hosting

Can I add custom code?

If you need custom controllers or plugins, manage your Strapi project through Git and deploy it as a custom app; the one-click installer only provides the standard build.

Where are uploads stored?

Files go into a persistent volume attached to your app server. If your media library grows large, switch to the S3 upload provider and connect it to NABHCLOUD's object storage.

Why is the Content-Type Builder greyed out?

Strapi intentionally turns it off in production mode. Build your model in a development copy, commit those files and deploy that project as your own app.

Which database does it use?

It connects to a SQL database configured in config/database, supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQLite. SQLite works for testing, but choose PostgreSQL or MySQL for production use.

How does one-click install work?

Pick an app from the store, select which app server to deploy it on, and click Install. You'll get a dedicated HTTPS address, auto-generated passwords shown once for your records, and the app running within a couple of minutes.
