Run open-source Invoice Ninja on NABHCLOUD servers in India, with quotes, recurring billing, expense tracking and a self-serve portal.
Invoice Ninja is a free, open-source billing tool for independent professionals and small companies. It covers client records, quotations, invoices, recurring billing, expense logging, time-based tasks and a self-service portal where your customers can review and settle their bills. On NABHCLOUD, we set it up for you along with its MariaDB database and Redis cache on your application server.

This app needs our Pro plan or an equivalent upgrade. Current plans and prices are shown on this page, with GST charged separately. Every plan comes with HTTPS, support for your own domain name and a proper GST invoice. Our servers for this service are located in Noida.
The installer sets up Invoice Ninja together with MariaDB and Redis. Sign in at the generated web address using admin@example.com and the password stored under Login Details in your panel, then update that email and password and enter your business details, currency and applicable tax rates.
Invoice Ninja is built on the Laravel framework for anyone who bills clients: it handles client records, product catalogues, quotations, invoices, payments, recurring bills, expenses and a portal where customers can open and pay an invoice directly. Version 5 is the current release, with a browser-based admin area, and its mobile apps link back to your own server. You can set up your own tax rates, and more than one rate can apply to a single invoice line.
Getting it running well depends less on the app itself and more on three background jobs. A scheduler fires recurring invoices and payment reminders, while a queue worker handles outgoing mail; if either one stops running, invoices simply stop being sent with no visible error. Once installed, set up a sample recurring invoice dated for the next day, then confirm it actually triggers. Generating PDFs relies on a headless Chromium process, which is the most resource-hungry part of the setup.
For Indian users, know its limits. It shows your GSTIN and tax figures on the invoice; however, it does not connect to the government e-invoice system and cannot generate an IRN, and it isn't built for filing returns. If your turnover crosses the e-invoicing threshold, consult your chartered accountant before depending on this app alone. Since standard SMTP ports stay blocked, outgoing mail must go through an API-based provider such as Postmark or Mailgun.
admin@example.com and the generated password, and change both straight away.| Usage pattern | Suggested plan | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| A freelancer or small team sending a handful of invoices each month | Pro | This plan runs the app together with MariaDB, Redis and a PDF rendering process. |
| A bigger agency with multiple staff, running an active client portal plus recurring billing | Business | Handles more simultaneous PDF generation and a larger mail queue. |
Our Pro plan gives you 2 vCPU, 4 GB of RAM and 50 GB of disk space, letting you run up to 10 apps. It's enough to run Invoice Ninja alongside your other applications on one server. Billed monthly, with 18% GST added separately. Current plans and prices are shown on this page.

Yes. You can set up tax rates, such as 18%, and apply one or several to each invoice or individual line, and your tax registration number appears on the invoice. It is not a tool for filing GST returns.
We keep outgoing SMTP blocked on the usual ports: 25, 465 and 587. Invoice Ninja instead works with API-based mail services such as Mailgun and Postmark; set one of these up under the app's settings.
Invoice Ninja can connect to payment gateways including Stripe, PayPal and Razorpay, accessible through its settings menu; you will need your own merchant account with whichever gateway you choose.
Not by default. It displays tax details and your GSTIN on invoices, but it does not create an IRN or connect to the government's e-invoice portal.
Pick an app from our store, choose which application server to deploy it on, and start the install. It receives its own HTTPS address, its passwords are generated and shown to you once, and it's ready to use within a couple of minutes.
