Run Penpot, the open-source Figma alternative, on your own NABHCLOUD app server. One-click install with PostgreSQL, Valkey and HTTPS included.
Penpot is an open-source design and prototyping tool, a browser-based option in place of Figma. Designers and developers edit the same project, working with components, flexible and grid-based layouts, interactive prototypes and built-in code inspection. We deploy it on your app server along with PostgreSQL and Valkey.
This application needs our Pro tier or above. Current plans and prices are shown on this page. Every deployment comes with HTTPS, a custom domain and a GST invoice, and runs out of our Noida data centre. See plans
Deployment launches the Penpot frontend, backend, exporter, PostgreSQL and Valkey together. Once it finishes, open the application's web address, sign up for the first account, then set up a team and add your colleagues.
Penpot is built around open web standards. Projects consist of boards, reusable components and vector shapes, and because it works natively with SVG, developers can inspect any element to get CSS, SVG markup or exact measurements without a separate handoff step. Its flex and grid layout tools mirror their CSS counterparts. The software is released under the MPL 2.0 licence.
Behind the interface sit several components: the frontend, a backend written in Clojure, an exporter that generates PDF and PNG files, a PostgreSQL database, and Valkey, which handles sessions and messaging. Uploaded files are stored on a persistent disk volume. The PENPOT_PUBLIC_URI setting must point to your actual HTTPS address, while PENPOT_FLAGS controls features such as new-user registration and email verification.
Email delivery needs some planning. By default, Penpot sends a verification message whenever someone signs up, but the standard SMTP ports are not open on our network. You have two options: route outgoing mail through a service that works over port 2525, or turn off email verification and control who can register instead. It's also worth noting that very large files, those with hundreds of boards, can feel slow in the browser no matter how powerful the server is.
| Workload | Plan | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Two or three designers working on small to medium files | Pro | Multiple services run together, so the entry-level tier is not enough room. |
| A full product team juggling large files and plenty of viewers | Business | Gives the backend and exporter more memory to work with. |
Our Pro tier gives you 2 vCPU, 4 GB of RAM and 50 GB of disk space, supporting up to 10 applications, so Penpot can run alongside your other projects on one server. Billed monthly, before 18% GST; current plans and prices are shown on this page.
Our Pro tier. Penpot runs multiple services at once and needs more capacity than our entry-level 1 GB tier offers.
Not directly. Penpot works with its own file format and SVG, though community-built tools exist for migrating Figma designs across.
Only if you set up mail delivery. Standard SMTP ports (25, 465, 587) stay blocked on our network, so use a mail provider that works on port 2525, or change the registration settings instead.
Yes. The Inspect panel displays CSS, SVG code and measurements for any selected element.
Pick the application from our catalogue, choose which app server to place it on, and start the install. The app receives its own HTTPS web address straight away, passwords get generated and displayed just once, and everything is live within a couple of minutes.
