BGP Sessions and IP Subnet Hosting in India | NABHCLOUD

BGP sessions and IP subnet hosting with NABHCLOUD in India: announce your prefix from our Noida datacentre, or take a subnet. What to prepare.

Guides

Some workloads need more than one address per server, or their own IP space and autonomous system number, or a block of addresses for a particular service. For servers hosted on our infrastructure, we set up BGP sessions, announce customer prefixes, and provide IP subnets, each priced after we review your setup.

Host your servers on our VPS plans, billed hourly with GST-compliant invoices, so your server comes online in under a minute.

What we offer

These three services apply only to customers whose servers run in our Noida facility. Because each setup is configured individually, you will not find a flat rate on our pricing page — we quote after understanding what you need.

  • BGP sessions: your router or server peers with our network to announce your prefixes, using either your own ASN or a private one we assign.
  • Bring-your-own-IP subnet hosting: we announce IP space already registered to you, so those addresses keep working once your servers move to us.
  • IP subnets alongside your servers: a block of our address space routed to your machines, for services needing more than one IP per server.

The network carrying your prefix

We operate our own autonomous system, AS152523, peer at Extreme IX, and take transit from Airtel and NTT. Our BGP policy favours the shortest route within India. Further detail is on our technology page.

Our own address space is announced via Cloudflare Magic Transit for DDoS mitigation. Whether a customer's prefix gets the same treatment depends on the specifics of your quotation — see our DDoS protection page for how the scrubbing works.

Bringing your own IP space

To originate a prefix registered in your name, we need documentation proving we are authorised to announce it. Prepare the following:

  • The prefix itself and its record with a regional registry such as APNIC, registered under your organisation's name.
  • An RPKI ROA authorising our ASN (or your own, if you are peering under your own ASN) to originate the prefix — without this, many networks will reject the route as RPKI-invalid.
  • A route object entered in an IRR database, so upstream filters permit the announcement.
  • A letter of authorisation on your company letterhead, if requested by your registry or by our upstream providers.

Running your own BGP session

If you hold your own ASN, you can run software such as BIRD, FRRouting, or a virtual router on a server hosted with us, and peer directly with our edge. You decide which prefixes to announce and when — useful for anycast setups, cross-site failover, or networks relocating into India.

Let us know whether you only need a default route from us, or the full routing table, and which BGP communities you require.

Taking an IP subnet with your Indian server

Each server we host comes with a single public IPv4 address. When a service requires more addresses than that, you can request an IP subnet — a block of our address space routed to the servers you keep in our Noida facility. Subnets are available only alongside hosted servers, and are quoted individually.

Before reaching out, work out what the addresses will be used for and roughly how many you will need, since that shapes both the size of the block and how it gets routed:

  • The use case: separate addresses for multiple sites or clients, a network appliance, or failover across servers.
  • Your current requirement, and how that might grow as the service scales.
  • Which server or servers the block should be routed to.
  • Whether you already hold your own address space — if so, we can announce it instead, as covered above.

Requesting a quotation

  1. Describe your setup

Share your ASN if you have one, the number of addresses or prefixes involved, and how many servers they will route to.

  2. Reach out

Contact us through our contact page or WhatsApp, mentioning BGP or IP subnets in your message.

  3. Receive a quotation

We verify the registry and RPKI records, then respond with the price and any outstanding requirements before going live.

  4. Go live

Once your servers are active with us and all records are confirmed, we activate the session or route the subnet to your machines.

Frequently asked questions

Can I announce my own IP prefix from your datacentre?

Yes, provided your servers are hosted with us. Share your prefix and ASN for a quotation — you will need a registry record in your organisation's name and an RPKI ROA for the originating ASN.

Do you provide IP subnets?

Yes, to customers whose servers are already hosted with us. The subnet is routed to your servers and quoted individually.

Do I need my own ASN for a BGP session?

Not necessarily. With your own ASN, you peer with us directly; without one, we can announce your prefix using ours instead. Let us know which applies when you request a quote.

Why are BGP sessions and IP subnets priced individually?

Each setup varies by prefix, routing requirements and server count, so we price it per customer instead of listing a fixed figure publicly.

Which network announces my prefix?

Our own network, AS152523, which peers at Extreme IX and takes transit from Airtel and NTT.

Can I get an IP subnet with a server in India?

Yes. Host your servers in our Noida facility and we will route a block of our addresses to them, quoted individually. Every server already includes one public IPv4 address.

Can I get an IP subnet without hosting a server?

No. IP subnets, BGP sessions and prefix announcements are available only to customers whose servers are hosted with us.
