Install Metabase, an open-source BI tool, on NABHCLOUD in one click. HTTPS, a custom domain and GST invoice included, hosted in Noida.
NABHCLOUD lets you run Metabase, an open-source tool built for business intelligence. Use it to query your databases visually, put together charts and dashboards, and schedule reports to go out automatically — or write raw SQL yourself if that is how you prefer to work.

This app requires at least the Pro plan. Current pricing is shown on this page, with GST applied on top. HTTPS, a domain of your choice and a GST invoice are included, and the app runs from our Noida data centre.
Installation sets up Metabase along with a separate application database. On your first visit you will go through the setup wizard and connect a data source. The Pro plan is required because Metabase runs on Java and needs a sizeable amount of memory.
Metabase fits teams where someone without SQL skills needs an answer quickly. They can select a table, apply a few filters and choose a visualisation type, letting Metabase put together the query on its own. Anyone who prefers writing SQL directly can use the native query editor and store their output as a question of its own. Questions can be combined into dashboards, and dashboards can be sent out on a schedule by email or Slack, all protected by logins and user groups. The free, open-source edition is released under the AGPL licence, and the application listens on port 3000.
There are two separate databases at play here, and confusing them is a common error. The data source is your own PostgreSQL or MySQL database that Metabase queries. The application database belongs to Metabase itself and stores your saved questions, dashboards and user accounts. When this is the lightweight built-in H2 file that Metabase itself advises against using in production, losing it means losing your dashboards too. Find out which type your install relies on, and keep it backed up.
Connect your data source using a read-only database account rather than the main application login. Metabase rescans the schema at set intervals, so a table or column you just added might not show up until the following sync, unless you trigger a rescan by hand. The memory demands of the JVM are the reason this app requires at least the Pro plan.
| Workload | Plan | Note |
|---|---|---|
| A handful of analysts running dashboards on a moderate-sized database | Pro | The JVM keeps cached data and recent query output in system memory. |
| Many simultaneous users, demanding dashboards or charts embedded in other apps | Business | Slow queries and many concurrent viewers call for extra headroom. |
Comes with 4 GB RAM, 2 vCPU and 50 GB of disk space, supporting up to 10 apps. You can run Metabase alongside your own applications on the same server. Billed monthly, with prices shown before 18% GST.
Install Metabase
Metabase is Java-based and typically wants about 2 GB of RAM just to run smoothly, more than the Starter plan offers.
Yes, as long as you connect through a read-only account. If your dashboards run demanding queries, direct Metabase to a replica or a dedicated reporting copy instead.
Metabase only rescans the schema at intervals. To see a new table immediately, open the database's settings and run the sync manually.
Back up Metabase's own application database, since that is what stores your saved questions, dashboards and user list. The data source itself needs a separate backup of its own.
Pick an application from our store, choose the app server to run it on, then click Install. It receives its own HTTPS address right away, its passwords are generated and shown to you once, and it goes live within a couple of minutes.
