What a Windows VPS Means

A Windows VPS runs on a KVM virtual machine with Windows Server loaded. You sign in as Administrator through Remote Desktop (RDP) and operate it like an always-on Windows machine with its own public IP, sitting inside a datacentre network. Our instances run from a Noida facility, backed by NVMe drives and Cloudflare Magic Transit for DDoS protection.

Available Windows Server Editions

At order time, choose between Windows Server 2022 or Windows Server 2025. Remote Desktop works right after first boot. Change your mind later? Reinstall the other edition from the control panel.

How the Windows Licence Cost Works

Licence cost for Windows Server comes bundled in, charged per vCPU core. Current plans and prices are shown on the Windows VPS page — licence cost already sits inside those figures, and nothing gets charged while the server stays powered off. We supply this licence under Microsoft's service provider licensing terms, so no separate key purchase or activation is needed.

Remote Desktop access for one or two admin accounts comes standard with Windows Server. Where multiple regular users need simultaneous desktop sessions, Remote Desktop Services client licences become necessary — contact support before planning a multi-user desktop.

Minimum Size Needed for Windows

Windows Server demands more RAM than an equivalent Linux setup, plus disk room for updates. For that reason, Windows images only run on servers starting at 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM, ensuring no Windows VPS ships too small for real use. Any bigger configuration from our server builder supports Windows equally.

  • Single Remote Desktop user, an MT4/MT5 trading terminal, or a small IIS/.NET site: an entry-level Windows plan fits.
  • A handful of Remote Desktop users, desktop business software, or IIS paired with a database: step up to mid-tier sizes.
  • Demanding .NET applications, SQL Server, or more concurrent users: go bigger, with resizing available anytime.

Connecting via Remote Desktop

  1. Grab login details

Inside the panel, open the server and note its IP address plus Administrator password; a password reset is available there too.

  2. Launch an RDP application

Windows users rely on Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc); Mac, iPhone and Android users open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app; Linux users can use Remmina or another RDP client.

  3. Sign in

Type in the IP address, then use Administrator and the matching password. Accept the certificate warning on first connection.

  4. Run updates first

Apply Windows Update before adding other software, then save a snapshot from the panel to have a safe rollback point.

Securing Your RDP Connection

Internet-facing RDP ports face constant scanning attempts. RDPGuard, built into the image, automatically blocks addresses that repeatedly fail a login, clearing the block once that address logs in successfully. Strengthen security further yourself:

  • Choose a long, unique Administrator password, and set up a distinct account for each person.
  • Within Windows Firewall, restrict RDP access to your fixed office or home IP addresses only.
  • Leave Windows Update enabled, and capture a snapshot before major update rounds.
  • Move important files off the server regularly, for instance into S3 object storage — a snapshot does not substitute for a backup.
  • Locked out? Use the panel's browser-based console, which functions independent of RDP.

Common Uses for a Windows VPS

  • Running forex and algorithmic trading platforms like MT4 and MT5 continuously, positioned near Indian brokers. Check our Forex VPS plans.
  • Accessing desktop business or accounting software remotely through your team's Remote Desktop sessions.
  • Hosting ASP.NET and IIS-based websites, optionally paired with SQL Server Express or another database engine.
  • Running Windows-exclusive utilities, build agents, and test environments that require a dedicated public IP.

Billing Structure

A Windows VPS can run on hourly billing while you're testing it out — charged per started hour with a one-hour minimum — or switch to a monthly or multi-year term once you commit long-term. Longer billing terms work out cheaper per month than hourly rates. Customers inside India receive a GST invoice; those outside India are billed in US dollars without GST.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the price include the Windows licence?

Yes — the licence cost is bundled in, charged per vCPU core, and already reflected in plan pricing. No charge applies while the server stays powered off.

What Windows versions can I choose?

Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025 are both available. Pick one at order time and swap to the other later through the panel if needed.

What's the smallest Windows VPS size?

Windows images need a minimum of 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM, giving enough memory and storage room for routine updates.

How do I access a Windows VPS?

Connect with any RDP client using the IP address and Administrator password shown in your panel — Remote Desktop Connection on Windows, Microsoft Remote Desktop on Mac and mobile, or Remmina on Linux.

Can multiple people share one Windows VPS?

Yes — create a separate account per person. Two administrators can be connected at the same time; additional concurrent desktop users require Remote Desktop Services client licences, so check with support first.

Is MT4 or MT5 supported?

Yes — a Windows VPS can run MT4 and MT5 terminals around the clock. For a dedicated trading setup, our Forex VPS plans arrive with Windows pre-configured.
