Chatwoot Hosting in India — One-Click Setup | NABHCLOUD

Run Chatwoot, an open source helpdesk platform rivaling Intercom and Zendesk, on NABHCLOUD App Hosting with HTTPS, hosted in Noida.

Chatwoot is an open source helpdesk platform that competes with Intercom and Zendesk. Conversations starting on your website chat, email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Telegram all flow into a single inbox that your support staff shares. NABHCLOUD App Hosting sets it up along with PostgreSQL and Redis on your application server.

You need at least the Pro plan. Current pricing is shown on this page and billed monthly before GST. HTTPS, a custom domain and a GST invoice are included, and hosting takes place in Noida.

Typical uses for Chatwoot

  • A chat widget placed on your website
  • A single inbox combining WhatsApp Business messages with website queries
  • Assigning, tagging and tracking support conversations through to resolution
  • Saved reply templates and a self-service help centre

What happens after you click install

Clicking install launches Chatwoot together with its background worker process, PostgreSQL and Redis. Visit the application's address to set up the first administrator login and your organisation profile, then create an inbox — a website widget, email or another channel — and send invitations to your agents.

  • Its own subdomain under our apps hosting address, secured with HTTPS right away
  • Every password Chatwoot requires gets generated automatically and stored in your login details section, where you can look it up later
  • Runs continuously on a private application server; you will not need SSH access or Docker
  • Restarting the app, checking logs and pointing your own domain are all managed from the NABHCLOUD control panel

About Chatwoot

At its core, Chatwoot works as a shared inbox gathering every customer conversation in one place. Someone typing into your website's chat bubble, a WhatsApp text, mail sent to your support address, a Facebook or Instagram direct message, or a Telegram chat — each becomes a conversation your agents can assign, tag, pause or reply to. Built on Ruby on Rails and MIT licensed at the core, it runs a Sidekiq background worker alongside its web process.

Setting up the website widget is the straightforward step — just one script tag pasted into your page. Getting email and WhatsApp working takes more effort. Outgoing email replies must pass through either an SMTP provider listening on port 2525 or an email-sending API, since standard SMTP ports stay blocked on our platform. Incoming mail typically comes in via forwarding rules or IMAP polling of your mailbox. Connecting WhatsApp through Meta's Cloud API calls for a verified business account plus webhook endpoints reachable from the public internet — something your HTTPS address already satisfies.

Two configuration points matter from day one. The FRONTEND_URL setting needs to hold your actual address, since emails and the widget's loaded links rely on it. Also, avoid letting every agent log in through one shared administrator account — give each team member their own agent login, so that conversation history and assignment actually carry meaning. Should the background worker ever stop running, messages will land late or not arrive at all, so check on it whenever responses seem slow.

Setting up Chatwoot on NABHCLOUD App Hosting

  1. Install the app and set up the first administrator. Choose Chatwoot from the app catalogue, open its address once ready, and enter the administrator details along with your company name.
  2. Create a website inbox. Add an inbox using the website channel type, paste the script tag onto your site, then load the page — a chat bubble should show up.
  3. Bring your agents on board. Invite each one using their email address. Keep in mind these invitation emails also depend on working outbound mail.
  4. Link up email or WhatsApp. Configure an email inbox with forwarding rules, or hook up the WhatsApp Cloud API using your Meta access token. Send a test message through each channel to confirm it works.

Common questions about hosting Chatwoot

Is WhatsApp integration supported?

Yes — connect through Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API, which needs a Meta business account and phone number, or through a supported third-party provider. This connection travels over HTTPS.

What plan should I choose?

The Pro plan. Running a web server and background worker alongside PostgreSQL and Redis needs more resources than the 1 GB Starter plan offers.

Can Chatwoot send email replies?

Outbound SMTP is blocked on our app hosting across three ports: 25, 465 and 587. Choose a mail provider whose outgoing SMTP works over port 2525 instead.

Can a bot handle the first reply?

Yes — Chatwoot includes automation rules plus an agent-bot API, letting you hook up your own bot to respond before a human agent takes over.

What happens during one-click install?

Pick the app from the catalogue, select which application server it should run on, then click Install. It receives its own HTTPS address, generated passwords are displayed once for you to save, and the whole setup becomes live within a minute or two.
